Things you'll find in our backyard

Blooming Flowers: Iris, Peony, Rhododendron

More flowers... and crops: Strawberries are the first fruit and workers of all kinds

One of the selling points for the house we recently bought and are working on was and is the backyard. Many people have wondered aloud why a builder would buy an old house. It is a good question and we have a variety of reasons one of which is where, in town, in a great neighborhood can you find a yard like this? We "inherited" much of what is here from the old owners who lived their lives in this yard. Some great, some good, and to be honest some not so great or even good things but this entry is about the positive (not the unending weeds, the randomness of where things are located, the amount of trash to haul off... oh wait, this is a positive entry)! Above are a few snapshots of the the great things in our yard: the flowers are beautiful and abundant. There are so many different kinds and colors. Luke loves to pick them and share their beauty with me, his teachers, and Omi. The berries and fruit trees are starting to come in: strawberries now... then blackberries, blueberries, grapes, apples and cherries (though the birds will probably beat us to those). Shaun and Luke have been working on getting our garden ready for planting so we can plant a few vegetables. Not pictured because they would not be still long enough are Maddie and Sierra, our dogs, who also live in the backyard. We have enjoyed the great play space, watching the birds and little critters and just enjoying a little peace on nice evening and look forward to a lot of fun times in our own backyard.

What a beautiful yard Bekah! I know all too well what it is like to remodel a house! It is a lot of work but the end result is worth it!
I wish we could have gotten together with you and Casey last night..Bob turned 60 so we had a big party for him and did not get home until late. Hope to see you next time you are in Texas!
