Summer's End

Luke early this summer (2008)... Luke summer of 2005 (2 months old)...

Summer 2008 is beginning to come to a close... as of today it's one week before Luke goes back to preschool, three days before the pool closes, our school-aged friends are already back in school on on a schedule, and Baby Sidden is expected any day now. I've told Luke all along that his baby brother would come when Summer was over and here we are, just upon that very moment. This summer has flown by, been jam-packed, and so much fun in so many ways. We've filled our time with a couple trips to the beach, museum outings. playtime with friends, a lot of time spent in the pool, working in the yard and a little on our house, and preparing for the new baby. Luke has grown physically and mentally in so many ways it's hard to describe. I can't name the number of people who have said, "he's not a baby anymore... he's a boy." That is for sure. He is communicating so well, showing interest in learning (especially about letters), and started to take care of things "all by himself." For example, I told him we needed to clean up his room and he went in his room and, without assistance, cleaned up all his toys. Of course, he still has his moments but there has been a definite transition in his interaction with the world around him. My "blogging" has been few and far between mainly because we have been on the go all summer and this will probably be the last blog before baby Sidden arrives... We are so excited for our new addition and can't wait for you all to meet him!
